The Best Way to Spread Christmas Cheer is to Sing Loud For All to Hear
The most wonderful time of year is fast approaching and no doubt we have started collecting all things Christmas. Or scrolling through the pages of Pinterest searching for inspiration on how to decorate your household into a Festive Wonderland.
With so many retailers raising their game each year for the festive period, it can be hard to know where to put your money. Whether you are looking to add a few bits and pieces to your current collection or looking to completely start again. One retailer that has completely caught my eye this year is, John Lewis. Although they are already one of the leading retailers for Christmas, this year they have restyled some of their collections as well as adding new ones.
This year John Lewis has added seven festive themes to its Christmas collection. Each theme is carried through to several other departments of the store not just Christmas decorations. You will find inspiration from the themes throughout gift wrapping, home furnishings, and tableware. In order to give you a look into John Lewis’ Christmas 2017 without bombarding you with too much information, I picked 4 out of the 7 themes to show you today.
Highland Myths
This theme creates a contemporary twist to a traditional Christmas. Taking inspiration from traditions and culture of the Scottish Highlands it plays heavy on the russet hues of copper complementing the reds and gold metallics. Feathers, glass and Cowbells create a fun element to theme. This is one of my favourite themes this year, and the cowbell is such a fantastic idea.

Into The Woods
Into the Woods is your fairytale theme, inspired by a enchanted forest featuring an abundance of faux greenery and embellished woodland creatures. Although there is a lot of greenery involved within this collection it is highlighted with purple jewel tones, and flutters of pink. To create a playful side within this theme there is a creative and interesting mix of decorations like miniature greenhouses, mushrooms and frog princes.

Winter Palace
This is the ultra glamorous theme out of them all, ideal for boutique inspired styling. You can create an opulent look with touches of tradition re-imagined with feathered peacock clips, sparkling diamanté baubles and metallic starburst decorations. Sapphire blues and glamorous golds make up the colour palette to this theme.

Folklore
The storybook theme is heavily inspired by Scandinavian craftsmanship and traditional prints, celebrating colour and pattern. Within this collection you will find cosy and homely vibes throughout, with cosy textiles, traditional hand-painted ceramics and bold embroidery. Traditional reds form the base of this themes colour palette with accents of teal and gold to create depth and white to represent snow. If you are someone who likes a traditional cheery Christmas with knitted jumpers, real Christmas trees and hot chocolates by the fire, then you will certainly enjoy this theme.
