How I am Tackling the Autumnal Season Head On

Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

In a blink of an eye we have just welcomed September. Yes, Autumn is on our door step and whatever is left of Summer is rapidly disappearing (sad face!). But as much as it is sad to say goodbye to the bright Summer days, I also love Autumn and everything that comes with it. My style and beauty habits change dramatically through Autumn and Winter and sometimes it’s hard to keep on track of what I’m doing as I am constantly experimenting. This year however I’ve found myself choosing products I want to use, finding places I want to visit and seeing fashion I want to incorporate into my wardrobe. So for this post I would let you know what I am planing and excited to use.

When it comes to fashion, I tend to observe Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration on what to do with my wardrobe each season. As I find that I’m drawn to more classic staples, I’m not always on the hunt for the latest on trend statements. Knitwear will play a fundamental role in my wardrobe as will my love for wool coats. I want to start adding some more tailoring to my collection this year but to also add some lovely sheer dresses and skirts to contrast. And it will also be nice to get my boots back out and possibly add a few more pairs.

By Terry will continue to be my skincare heroes throughout Autumn/Winter. On top of this I will add my Sunday Riley ‘Luna’ Night Oil back into my routine. One task I am setting myself, is to try and find a mask to help remedy my skin when it gets into the colder months. My skin sometimes doesn’t cope so well in the cold, but sometimes its the lack of Vitamin D can be the main issue. In terms of makeup, I’m aiming for a Radiant Glow to help my skin not look too dull which it tends to do. I want it to look natural, by using a subtle contour product and subtle highlight paired with a new foundation that gives me a natural, fresh finish.

Food and Drink

Autumn must be the season for new openings in Edinburgh when it comes to restaurants and cafes. This month sees the opening of the first Ivy restaurant in Scotland called, ‘Ivy on the Square.’ Another place which has caught my eye recently is Hyde and Son which opened inside Eden Lock, an apart-hotel on George Street. This cafe has a fresh, minimal fee and looks like the ideal place to relax. Buts what’s even more exciting is it turns into a bar at night. Edinburgh will certainly be the place to be when it comes to eating out and perusing the bars. I can’t wait to start exploring.

Home Decor

For the past year I have been saying I want to redecorate my room as it hasn’t been touched for about 10 years. I was close to doing it before Summer but just never got round to doing it. But I need to do it in Autumn in order to create a cozy room for the colder days. But to also have an up to date room to have more inspiration and space to be creative when it comes to working on my blog, and hopefully YouTube channel. If you want to see what’s inspiring me when it comes to interior design check out my Pinterest page.

Autumn is probably my favourite season and love getting out and about and seeing everything turning red and orange and sipping on Pumpkin Spice Lattes of course.

Let me get to know a bit about you. Do you look forward to Autumn? What do you look forward to about Autumn?
